Welcome to the Parent Center

"The single most important determinant of a child's success in school, and ultimately throughout life, is not family status, education level, income, or IQ. It is whether that child's parents are involved in that child's education."

- Ann Henderson

The Bret Harte Parent Center, established in 1999, is located in Room 102, and is staffed by PTA volunteers and translators funded by the SSC to nurture a vibrant home-school connection for all families.

Kristen Caven and Eva La are in the parent center on Wednesday mornings, but parents are always welcome in Room 102 to browse for information, sign up for e-scrip, meet with each other, or volunteer. The Parent Center produces From the Harte, our monthly newsletter. The First Friday of every month, parents provide coffee-break treats for teachers at 11 a.m. Twice a year, the PTA hosts a breakfast social for parents, teachers, and staff.
