Emily Rasmussen

Ms. Rasmussen is thrilled and honored to serve the Bret Harte Community as Principal. Ms Rasmussen has nearly two decades of experience in education at Oakland Unified School District. She served as Assistant Principal at Elmhurst United Middle School for seven years. Ms. Rasmussen was an Instructional Coach for three years at REACH Academy and was an Elementary School teacher for five years prior to that.


Ms. Rasmussen comes humbly to the work as Principal and looks forward to partnering with students, families, teachers and community members. She is grateful for all of the incredible mentors that she has had over the years and considers herself a lifelong learner. When she's not with the Bret Harte Community, she enjoys spending time with her son and dog. She loves reading, being with her friends and enjoying nature.
